Album will be supported by tour
Bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding will release her new project, Emily’s D+Evolution, March 4 on Concord Records. Co-produced by Spalding and Tony Visconti (David Bowie), the album is described in a press release as “an electrifying take on the power trio adorned with backing singers and touches of synthesizer.”
Spalding assembled a new band for the project, including guitarist Matthew Stevens and drummer Karriem Riggins. She recorded some of the album’s 11 tracks in front of a small audience in a Los Angeles studio.
